Storage
If FIBCs are to be stored outside, ensure that the bags have the suitable level of UV protection (which changes depending on the area/country being stored). This information will be available from the manufacturer/supplier.
Additional considerations would be ensuring the FIBC is not stored in standing water, the area is cleared from debris and that the level of sun exposure is within the guidelines.
Consideration for the contents of the FIBC as some products are unsuitable for storage outside. Sheeting or pallet covers can be used with FIBCs for additional protection.
Unfilled FIBC bags should have the same consideration as above.
The information in this series of informational blogs is taken from our 'Safe Use of FIBCs'
booklet. I you would like a copy of the booklet, please get in touch and we will send one to you.
This booklet is a good Health & Safety resource for any users of bulk bags and is based on the information and guidelines provided by EFIBCA.
